The JPS Podcast

The JPS Podcast features conversations with team members, stories of Tarrant County, and all the tough questions related to healthcare. In collaboration with our Multimedia team, which develops, records, and produces our podcast, I pitch in to create the visual delivery of these conversations. This won the 2023 Health + Wellness Graphic Design Award from GDUSA.

The JPS Foundation Fundraising Package

The JPS Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money to provide goods and services to continue to make JPS Health Network a regional and national leader in transforming healthcare delivery. The JPS Foundation raises money through annual giving, corporate gifts, employee and physician giving, grants, and individual gifts. I created takeaway folders and other collateral to be used at donor events and meetings with key stakeholders in the community. This won the 2023 Health + Wellness Graphic Design Award from GDUSA.

The JPS Bond Program Takeaway Folder

In 2018, Tarrant County taxpayers voted in favor of an $800 million bond referendum to expand and renovate JPS. In an effort to increase awareness around the JPS Bond Program and its progress, I created takeaway folders for Administration to carry to meetings with stakeholders. Folders include partner spotlights, the latest stories, information about the JPS Bond Program, and how to get involved. This won the 2022 Health + Wellness Graphic Design Award from GDUSA.

Bi-Monthly Communications Report

The Communications department at JPS supports the entire network. From promoting monthly and weekly celebrations and designations to the routine handouts and website updates, our team touches every corner of the hospital. It’s important for us to keep a record of the work we are producing. Every other month, I put together a communications report to hand off to executive leadership and board members to bring awareness to the scope of what our team covers. It is a collection of our team’s efforts: design, web, videography and patient stories, photography, press releases, and social media.

2022 Hospital Week

Every year for Hospital Week, the JPS Employee Engagement team plans a week full of events across the network. Historically, JPS Communications supports all design needs for the week, from ideation to execution, creating the art, and working with our vendors to produce the collateral needed. For this Hospital Week, the content created included digital monitor displays, screensavers, selfie frames, profile picture frames, daily network emails and social media posts, t-shirt design, and video support.

JPS Community Outreach Monthly Newsletter

I am a big believer in collaboration. Each month, I work with JPS Community Outreach to create their monthly newsletter. I provide guidance on our branding — design, tone, and copy style. It gives me a chance to see how our work in Communications is being relayed to the community. It’s a win-win for both departments and, ultimately, the network.

2020 Healthcare Hero Challenge Coin

JPS Health Network, like other healthcare systems around the world, struggled during 2020. It was a year full of unknowns. As we climbed every obstacle and braced ourselves for the next one, we achieved new accomplishments. In 2020, JPS was named the #1 Hospital for America but Washington Monthly and Outstanding Healthcare System by D CEO. But our team members were worn out. I created a set of challenge coins that were gifted to each team member at JPS, as a symbol of our accomplishments that year. This won the 2020 Health + Wellness Graphic Design Award from GDUSA.

COVID-19 Vaccine Video Series

For many of our patients in Tarrant County, the discovery of COVID-19 and the introduction of the vaccine came too quickly. Our team worked with Dr. Steven Davis, JPS Internal Medicine Chairman, and Dr. Jocelyn Zee, Pulmonary Intensivist, to ease the worries of the community through a series of videos. Alongside our network videographer, who recorded the audio, I worked to animate educational videos that easily translated the science and safety behind the COVID-19 vaccine.

COVID-19 Communications

Around JPS’ main campus and surrounding clinics, there are digital monitors that display patient and team member messages, depending on location. During the height of the pandemic, slides were created to encourage team members and visitors about visitation guidelines and mask policies. These are only a few examples of the many slides that have been created.

Turkey Toss

Turkey Toss is an annual JPS Thanksgiving tradition. Team members can choose between a turkey, fruit basket, or ham to take home for the holiday. Since the start of the pandemic, Turkey Toss was another JPS tradition that had to be rethought. In previous years, a large refrigerated truck would park at the loading dock and team members would wait in line for their pick. Now, it’s a drive-thru event and a new process had to be introduced. Click on the video above to see the animated slide I created that ran on monitors that worked as a guide to how JPS would celebrate this new tradition. Other collateral for the event included banners, directional signs, a map, and posters for volunteers to hold and cheer on drivers coming through.
